Raptors Hot Start Proves Too Much for Wizards

Toronto — Raptors Hot Start Proves Too Much for Wizards 114-104

The Raptors knew the importance of this game against the Wizards as they had already seen the Bulls defeat Lakers. Win and stay half a game ahead or lose and fall half a game behind the Bulls.

It started out great as the Raps took the lead early. They used their signature defence, fast break offence and held a 16 point advantage 37-21 at the end of one. The pace slowed in the second. Although the Raptors still out scored the Wizards by one to hold an 17 point lead at half, there was a quiet confidence from the visiting team.

In the third, the Wizards would use that momentum and hot shooting to out score the home team 38-24 and cut the lead to three.  The fourth quarter was a return to defence. Lead by some great play by the Raptors bench and scoring from the starters, each one scoring in the double digits. Lead by O.G and VanVleet 29 & 28 points respectively. The team also welcomed back Scottie Barnes and his 13 points 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Wizards were with out Bradley Beal, Monte Morris and Kyle Kuzma. Toronto has won or tied the past 12 season series with Washington.

Fluent Finale: O.G. Anunoby had 18 points in the first quarter and almost single handily out scored the Wizards but then only had 2 points in the second and third quarters combined.

Now you’re more fluent!
